Presenting Power, led by Michelle Dinneen of Ardin Career Development provided excellent insights into how to improve your presentation skills, from engaging slide design right up to the psychological elements at play whilst you are presenting – and how to navigate. Our LSC Consultant Team and staff had a wonderful evening of networking and learning during this three-hour event hosted by LSC’s Consultant Success Programme. MTU Careers Fair – October 13th 2022
Is there anything quite like the hustle and bustle of a career fair? The LSC team had a wonderful day speaking with third-level students looking to establish their careers upon finishing their courses. Placements whilst on your course are a great way to get your foot in the door, gain a little experience and start to make some contacts within the industry. Beyond this LSC have some tips and tricks to help get you set up:
Treat your CV as your calling card
Remember a great CV tells your story and helps you stand out from the crowd. It’s important to sell the skills you can bring to the role you are applying for. The processes, equipment, systems & facilities you have worked on previously are critical.
Ensure your CV is relevant and up to date. Don’t be afraid to seek professional support!
Join an Industry Organisation or Group
Developing a network of contacts is essential in the Life Science industry – in joining the societies and professional organizations below you get an opportunity to:
- Attend events, seminars and lectures to increase your technical knowledge
- Grow your industry network
