As part of Biotech Week 2017, LSC’s Amparo attended the Center for Higher Studies of the Pharmaceutical Industry’s (CESIF), first annual employment conference in Madrid on September 27th and 28th. The event provided a forum for 200 industry professionals and students to meet with leading companies and learn more about the Biopharma sector from industry experts.
Amparo presented on the strength of the Irish Biopharma industry and the opportunities that are here today and coming in the future. The overall feedback from the attendees was very positive, with many previously unaware of Ireland’s position as a global hub for Biopharma investment and employment. It was great to have the opportunity to promote Ireland as a career destination and to give first hand advice on how to make the transition to those now considering the move.
Amparo’s presentation covered:
- The Irish Biopharma industry
- Current and future projects in Ireland
- Amparo’s story – How to make the transition from Spain to Ireland
- Next steps to join the Irish Biotech industry?
The event was certainly a success and LSC were delighted to be among leading companies such as Celgene, J&J, Lilly and PharmaMar also presenting at the event. As well as presentations, interactive workshops focused on enhancing the skills and competencies of the attendees and allowed for networking and post presentation discussions with participants.
