(Sr.) Project Scheduling & Controls Consultant

This vital role offers the chance to lead strategic project planning and controls across a diverse portfolio, ensuring seamless execution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in project scheduling and controls within technical or operational portfolios
- Proven expertise with Microsoft Project, Planview, and other enterprise scheduling tools
- Strong analytical skills, including schedule risk and impact analysis
- Experience supporting operational and technical development project portfolios
- Demonstrated ability to deliver resource forecasting, capacity planning, and demand analysis
- Skilled in developing portfolio reporting, governance frameworks, and project controls methodologies
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning abilities to deliver measurable outcomes
- PMP certification is required; Planview experience is desirable
- Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise integrated project schedules across the organisation's technical portfolio
- Deliver planning, scheduling, and project controls services via Microsoft Project, Planview, and other tools
- Produce and maintain detailed project schedules, milestone plans, dependency maps, and critical path analyses
- Conduct resource capacity versus demand forecasting and utilisation analysis
- Generate schedule performance reports, including actual vs. planned, variances, trend analysis, and S-curve insights
- Perform schedule risk assessments and impact analyses, identifying risks and mitigation strategies
- Deliver governance reporting packs, project status updates, and portfolio performance dashboards
- Establish and uphold project control standards, methodologies, templates, and reporting processes
- Provide recommendations for schedule optimisation to enhance project delivery
- Maintain risk and dependency registers, conducting impact assessments as needed
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for scheduling, planning, and governance processes
- Support project controls documentation, analysis, and reporting aligned with project and portfolio objectives
