DeltaV Automation Engineer

This role is critical in translating process intent into seamless control logic and operator interfaces, supporting the entire lifecycle from detailed design through to commissioning and startup. Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate process intent into DeltaV control logic, phases, and operator screens
  • Support Emerson Automation during the detailed design, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup phases
  • Collaborate closely with process engineers, manufacturing, and QA teams
  • Design alarms, interlocks, and safeguards to enhance operational safety and efficiency
  • Own automation issues during engineering runs and early GMP batches
  • Contribute to process improvements, deviations, and modifications as projects evolve
  • Build, test, break, and troubleshoot automation systems ensuring robust performance


Required Skills:

  • Proven experience with DeltaV automation systems
  • Strong background in GXP environments, ideally within Ireland
  • Experience working in or with start-up settings is advantageous
  • Ability to translate process requirements into automation solutions
  • Experience with commissioning and startup activities
  • Good understanding of alarms, interlocks, and safety safeguards
  • Excellent collaboration skills, working side-by-side with multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility to work onsite (approximately 80%) with the potential for remote adjustments during design phases


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, particularly in regulated environments
  • Prior experience in Irish biotech, pharmaceutical, or start-up sectors is highly desirable
