Calibration Specialist

What You'll Do:
- Own and manage the site calibration program, ensuring all instrumentation equipment is maintained to regulatory standards.
- Provide expert support and guidance on electrical and instrumentation issues during startup and ongoing operations.
- Collaborate with health and regulatory authorities, representing site calibration practices during audits.
- Initiate and roll out new calibration strategies in line with industry best practices.
- Support maintenance teams with technical support, training, and troubleshooting.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance calibration and maintenance processes.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, job plans, and data sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Carry out internal audits to verify GMP compliance and drive quality standards.
- Analyze condition monitoring data to identify proactive maintenance opportunities.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
- Proven experience owning and managing calibration programs, ideally within pharma or a highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation standards, including IEC, ISO, ISA, and relevant EU directives (e.g., ATEX).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience with calibration, equipment upgrades, obsolescence management, and reliability improvement projects.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems, data analysis, and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and external regulatory bodies.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of GMP, HSE standards, and internal quality systems.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Level 8 Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years' experience in maintenance or engineering roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.
- Familiarity with global and local standards and directives relevant to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience supporting calibration standards development and uncertainty measurement programs.
