LSC have an exciting contract opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading medical device company based in Limerick. The companies FDA regulated Limerick facility has grown consistently over the last 20 years to become one of the most important sites in its global operations. This facility specialises in the production of disposable contact lenses in a state of the art operation which includes injection moulding, robotics, vision systems and sterilisation systems in a Class 100,000 cleanroom environment.

ABOUT THE PROJECT – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
o This role is responsible for the deployment of technical solutions and development of site capability to coordinate and leverage talent and best practices in engineering & technology.
o The engineer will be responsible for and involved in the design, installation and improvement of the lens production processes and equipment.
o Edits and publishes troubleshooting documentation and training materials for materials, and equipment.
o Strong analytical approach to problem solving and brings innovative solutions to equipment.
o Works closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of troubleshooting methods to equipment and processes.
ABOUT YOU – ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?
o Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in production, manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
o Previous experience in the use of ‘black belt’ statistical techniques would be a distinct advantage, as would familiarity with equipment validation in an FDA environment
o 4 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
