LSC has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Safety Lead to join a pharmaceutical company in Cork. You will be working in a site that supplies active ingredients through complex chemical synthesis and biotechnology manufacturing processes for a range of therapeutics. ABOUT THE PROJECT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the site contractor safety coordinator team, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the organisation's safety goals and objectives.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for construction HSE documents and standards adapting to regulatory requirements in conjunction with industry and corporate standards
  • Deliver direction and governance for a number of HSE Programmes, including project supervisor design process, project supervisor construction stage, and the maintenance department on site.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained in safety procedures and protocols.
  • Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed records of all safety incidents and corrective measures taken.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety across all construction activities. Ensure that safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of project planning and execution.



ABOUT YOU - ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?

  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices in construction.
