Reporting to the Associate Director Automation Systems the Building Automation System Engineer will support the Building Automation System (BAS) and other Utility Automation Systems as required. The BAS Engineer works closely with other resources such as operations, HVAC engineers, Utility engineers, electrical team, projects team. The BAS engineer also works with other company internal resources & external engineers to maintain sustaining operation of the BAS and also deliver upgrade projects on site
ABOUT THE PROJECT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting Building Automation System (BAS) (Siemens DesigoCC) and other Utility Automation Control systems.
- Support upgrade projects.
- Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support to resolve technical issues.
- Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
- Ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
- Creating and carrying out test procedures and automation change controls.
- Liaising with installation/project engineers.
- Supervising engineering, vendors and technical staff.
- Writing reports and documentation.
- Writing work instructions.
- Ensuring safe working conditions.
- Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
- Attend Software Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Testing.
- Maintaining and developing change control systems..
ABOUT YOU - ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, or a related engineering field or its equivalent.
- At least 5 years experience providing Building Automation / Building Management system solutions and support to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or similar is required.
- Experience during project delivery and operations support.
- Experience working with Air Handling Units (AHU) / HVAC and other critical utility systems such as cooling towers, compressors.
- Experience with Siemens DesigoCC, Siemens Xworks.
- The candidate will have demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels, coupled with excellent organisation and planning skills.
- Experience of interfacing equipment with Siemens PXC controllers using modbus would be an advantage.
- In addition, problem solving, critical thinking and project management ability is essential. Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs is required.
- Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.

- Working knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle.
- Experience of GDP Documentation practices.
