LSC have a great contract opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join a Dublin based Biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering innovative medicines that can help patients overcome serious diseases and improve their quality of life.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Automation Systems the Automation Engineer is part of the sustaining automation team that supports the DeltaV system on site. The engineer is responsible for ensuring reliable and robust DeltaV DCS automation system technical design to meet business and process requirements including integration to other systems such as OEM systems. The automation engineer works with other internal resources & external engineers, including manufacturing engineering, quality and the projects team.

ABOUT THE PROJECT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the Automation Technical Leads and actively participating in the creation review and approval of the system deliverables, such as design documents.
  • Creation of Automation Changes Controls and implementation on the site DCS, DeltaV.
  • Regularly communicating and collaborating with the sustaining team stakeholders as well as system vendors.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the site automation strategy for the lifecycle support and optimisation of the automation systems on site.
  • Support the development of site procedures.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing improvement initiatives in support of operations excellence.
  • Ensuring all design work is completed in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Support investigations.
  • Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support to resolve technical issues.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
  • Ensuring that equipment works to its specification.


ABOUT YOU - ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, or a related engineering field or its equivalent.
  • At least 5 years experience providing automation system solutions and support to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or similar is required.
  • Experience during project delivery and operations support.
  • The candidate will have demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels, coupled with excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.
  • Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
  • Ability to anticipate, evaluate and resolve multiple, simultaneous project issues, delays and problems by utilising technical, project management, and business expertise.
  • Knowledge of S88 Standard as well as GAMP software development lifecycle.
  • Experience of GDP Documentation practices.
