ABOUT THE PROJECT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The EHS Project Engineer ensures environmental, health, and safety compliance across pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D operations. This role integrates EHS principles into engineering projects, supports regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement in safety and sustainability practices. The position requires strong technical expertise in high-hazard programs, chemical management, construction and contractor EHS management within highly regulated environments.
- Integrate EHS requirements into capital projects, facility upgrades, and process changes.
- Conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) and ensure closure of EHS-related actions prior to commissioning.
- Lead development and implementation of High Hazard Programs (e.g., Construction Safety, ATEX, Process Safety Management).
- Support Biosafety programs including containment strategy validation.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations including HSA and EPA.
- Implementation of Construction, Machinery and other EHS Regulations.
ABOUT YOU - ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
- Advanced degree (MSc, MEng) preferred for complex pharmaceutical environment.
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or chemical manufacturing environments supporting projects/operations.
- Proven experience supporting capital projects, facility upgrades, and equipment installations with EHS integration.
- Demonstrated involvement in GMP-regulated operations and cleanroom environments.
