Senior Associate Scientist, Purification is required for a Cork based Biopharmaceutical company. The site manufactures low volume bulk API for Phase III clinical trials, initial product launch and long term market support. The team on site grow, purify, formulate and bulk fill mammalian cell culture derived APIs for medicines intended for human use. The site is currently moving from commissioning into full scale commercial operations. The Purification Scientist will:
o Exercise significant technical discretion in the design and execution of a wide variety of experiments including quantitative data analysis and interpretation of results.
o Use results to design new experiments.
o Write complex protocols and technical reports. Evaluate methods and technologies.
o Routinely identify new areas requiring evaluation.
o Identify and troubleshoot complex manufacturing problems. May lead aspects of process transfer and process validation activities.
o Make contributions to scientific publications and regulatory submissions.
o Ability to take a leadership role in groups and to influence others effectively.
o Support all activities related to the MSAT lab in which harvest clarification, purification and analytical testing activities are performed.
The Purification Scientist will require:
o Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent with 8+ years relevant experience in process development or GMP manufacturing, or Master’s degree with 5+ years relevant experience.
o Minimum of 1 year bio-pharmaceutical experience with CHO cell cultures.
