Sr Associate Scientist – Cell Culture is required for a Cork based Biopharmaceutical company. The site manufactures low volume bulk API for Phase III clinical trials, initial product launch and long term market support. The team on site grow, purify, formulate and bulk fill mammalian cell culture derived APIs for medicines intended for human use. The site is currently moving from commissioning into full scale commercial operations. The Sr Cell Culture Scientist will:
o Knowledgeable in protein science, cell culture and protein expression.
o Run the cell culture and harvest operations of a laboratory scale process for a recombinant enzyme active ingredient.
o Test samples from the process for cell viability, cell density, metabolites and titre and additional tests as required by the experimental plan.
o Provide technical support for ongoing cell culture processes at laboratory and manufacturing scale.
o Participate in providing manufacturing with critical information necessary for maintaining consistent product supply, now and in the future.
o Participate in monitoring production processes.
o Participate in the diagnosis and resolution of production problems.
o Participate in maintaining scale-down models of the commercial or clinical process.
o Participate in testing the feasibility of new manufacturing processes.
The Sr Cell Culture Scientist will require:
o Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or biopharmaceutical engineering with 2-5 years relevant cell culture experience in process development or Manufacturing Sciences, or Master’s degree with 1-3 years experience.
o Minimum of 1 year bio-pharmaceutical experience with CHO cell cultures.
