Job Description

Associate Scientist is required for a leading pharmaceutical company in Cork. Our client specialises in the manufacture of small molecule APIs in three production facilities on site, one of which is sterile. This site has been producing APIs for over 35 years in Cork and has developed a reputation as being innovative, adaptive and having a clear strategic vision. The site has added to its core functions over the years and is now a key decision maker in the company’s global supply chain. The site is going through a series of upgrades and investments in 2016/17 which will add to its current capabilities and strengthen its long term strategic plan.

The Associate Scientist will be responsible for:
o Perform bioanalytical and physical tests according to procedures in a timely and organized fashion.
o Generation of data and interpretation of results within required due dates for release and stability.
o Perform data review, interpretation and trending.
o Assist with early phase method development and optimization.
o Keep up to date with existing and new SOP’s and official documentation.
o Contribute to proper use, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment where applicable.
o Perform investigations; invalid assays, laboratory events and deviations where required.

The Associate Scientist requires:
o A BSc, MSc or PhD in Biotechnology or a related field.
o Expertise in ‘large molecule’ (Biologics) field is required.
o Experience in separations analytical technologies is preferred but not essential.
o Experience in Lean Tools/Project Management is a benefit.
