As part of our Consultant Success Program, LSC operate a buddy system. At its very core, a buddy system is about helping a new starter to settle into their new role. It involves teaming up a new LSC starter with an existing LSC Contractor on site, where the existing Contractor acts as a point of contact for the new starter who can provide information, guidance and encouragement during their first few weeks of employment. A buddy will take on the following tasks to help the new starter settle in:

•  Initiate contact with the new starter on their first day, in person ideally but via phone or email is ok too;
•  Be available to answer routine questions of a general nature;
• Provide information on how the working area operates, along with its policies and procedures, and where to go for other sources of information
• Show the new starter around site and introduce them to other members of the team that they may see within their working environment
• Point out catering or other facilities that may be of interest i.e. gym, smoking area etc.

You will have the option of having a buddy to help you get settled onsite and also to become a buddy for someone else in the future.
