LSC have a great contract opportunity for MSAT Associate Scientist to join a Cork based Biopharmaceutical company. The site manufactures low volume bulk API for Phase III clinical trials, initial product launch and long-term market support. The team on site grow, purify, formulate, and bulk fill mammalian cell culture derived APIs for medicines intended for human use.
ABOUT THE PROJECT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with a team of SME's to deliver oa project portfolio supporting the Global MSAT business plan and Shanbally 5-year site strategy.
- Utilise small scale purification models and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex manufacturing problems, improve process robustness and achieve yield improvement objectives.
- Own and deliver qualification of resin material for GMP use across a number of protein products, under the supervision of more senior scientists.
- Support cross-functional project work by conducting small scale purification in support of experimental work in the Upstream space.
- Utilise technical writing skills to author protocols, presentations, and reports.
- Apply Univariate and/or Multivariate study design methodologies to discrete studies/experiments with appropriate support. Leverage statistical analysis to challenge purification data and generate objective conclusions from assigned projects.
ABOUT YOU - ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?
- Theoretical knowledge of protein biochemistry (Enzymes, Antibodies), and more ideally, have hands on expertise of small-scale laboratory purification techniques (e.g., AKTA systems) such as affinity, size exclusion and ion-exchange chromatography
- comfortable working in a dynamic work environment, should be an effective communicator and should have strong technical writing skills
