Our client is a global organization responsible for the development, clinical supply, marketed product support and technical life cycle management of biopharmaceutical products.
The Associate Director of Bioassay and Analytical sciences will lead a team of > 20 Scientists, responsible for cell-based bioassay, immunoassay, and nucleic acid assay testing to support development of Biologics.
The team is responsible for enhancing bioassay technical expertise as well as executional excellence in routine and investigational operations.
The Associate Director will have a responsibility to drive new product introduction, Early Development analytical sciences for Platform and Non- Platform Large Molecule products and support associated regulatory filings including INDs and BLAs.
The successful candidate will represent the department on cross-functional teams, external global teams and act as a technical expert on bioassays, immunoassays, and nucleic acid assays.
Report to: Scientific Director, Analytical Development, Cork
In this role you will:
o Lead the Bioassay team and drive all associated activities at the Cork site to support the global R&D portfolio.
o Develop and implement the bioassay strategy for managing development programs, data analysis & trending across the global organization.
o Prioritize, innovate and manage knowledge to deliver outstanding scientific & operational performance
o Responsible for developing the required talent to drive technical excellence and leadership in Bioassay and ED Stability Sciences.
You will ideally have
o Ph.D/MSc. in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Analytical Sciences
o A minimum of 10 years’ experience within the biopharmaceutical industry focusing on Large Molecules Analytical Development.
o A minimum of 5 years of prior management experience with accountability for individual performance
